Ice & Field’s Summer Ice Show “Skating Through the Decades” will have one performance, on Saturday, August 12 at 3:00pm on the Gold Rink.  The show is open to ALL skaters both Learn-to-Skate (LTS) and US Figure Skating competitive levels, ages three and above—there’s a spot for everyone in the show!  Our goal is to have as much participation as possible from all our skaters at Ice & Field. Bringing you Schedules, Stats, Standings and More… The following day, Sunday, August 13, there will be a complimentary skating party for the show cast and all Learn-to-Skate members at Ice & Field **plus up to 5 friends each** from 10:30am-12:30pm on the Silver Rink followed by a free ice cream party.

Summer Show practices for large group numbers will begin the first week of June and will run through August 10.  All practice dates and times are listed below for each specific large LTS group number based on skater’s level.  To participate, please complete the on-line registration form, which will allow you to enter your contact information, sign up for a large group number as well as an ensemble and/or solo number. To complete your show registration through our secure site, please have your credit card available.   

There will be five large main Learn-to-Skate group numbers featured in the show, based on skating class level at the time of registration: 

  • Snowplow Sam 2 – Snowplow Sam 4 (50s Grease) 
  • Basic 1 – 4 (80s Michael Jackson) 
  • Basic 5 – Pre-Freeskate (70s Disco) 
  • Freeskate 1 – 6 and above (2000s Britney Spears) 
  • Adults 1 – 6 and above (90’s Prince) 

**No auditions are required for any show number and skaters may perform in a large group, small group ensemble and as a soloist (must have a lutz jump or higher for solos).

Show Registration Fees: 

$250 – Large Group Performer:

(Snowplow 2 – Snowplow Sam 4, Basic 1 – Basic 4, Basic 5 – Pre-Free Skate, Free Skate 1 -6 and above, & Adult 1 – 6 and above) Fee includes all on-ice choreograph and instruction, as well as off-ice rehearsals if called by the choreographer. Costumes are included in the registration fee. 

$50 – Small Group Ensemble Performer:

There are three categories available: duets, trios and quartets which are open to all skaters (Snowplow 2 and above). Specific group concepts, music and costumes must have Show Committee approval (contact information below).  Ensemble skaters are responsible for ice, private coaching and costume fees. 

$75 – Solo:

Soloists must have a single lutz jump or above and have Show Committee approval for music and costume.  Solo skaters are responsible for all lessons with a private coach and ice and costume fees.   

Complimentary Opening & Closing Numbers:

All soloists are invited to skate in the opening number (rehearsal dates TBD) and all skaters will be included in the closing number.  Groups will be announced one by one for the closing number and skaters will wear the costume from their group number (no on ice rehearsal required). 

 

Please note for insurance purposes, all show performers must be current members of Learn to Skate USA or United States Figure Skating. Please contact peter@iceandfield.com if you have questions about membership. (Learn to Skate USA membership is required with Ice & Field Learn to Skate class registration so all skaters who have registered for a Learn to Skate session at Ice & Field since July 1, 2022, should have a current Learn to Skate USA membership. All show registrations will be reviewed for memberships.)  

All choreography and show production will be conducted by Ice & Field staff.  Please contact peter@iceandfield.com for all matters regarding choreography, costumes, and rehearsal times. Any private instruction for soloists or group ensembles is at soloists’/groups’ expense and may include coaching fees, freestyle admissions, and costume costs.   

Show participation fees are non-refundable. An account credit may be issued with a doctor’s note. A maximum of two (2) absences will be permitted.  If you are absent from a show practice, please contact the choreographer for opportunities to catch up on missed choreography.
